Oslo Women’s Rights Initiative
is an alliance of individuals and groups who believe that supporting women’s rights activists from countries with extreme gender equality issues is the most effective way to build lasting, sustainable change in the world. We create a platform for collaboration, networking and coordinating efforts for social change. Our mission is to use our resources and alliances to help activists launch initiatives they would normally lack resources to complete.
The Initiative is set up to create a space where participants can freely discuss their countries’ governments, critique and evaluate their policies, hear firsthand coping strategies from others in similar situations and engage fully and completely in their activism, without fear of retribution. To make connections with other activists and with an open civil society is a fundamental step in furthering our participants’ goals of opening their societies.
